What is the Diaconate Committee?

  • The diaconate committee is one of the most important committees as it deals directly with worship.
  • Churches in the diocese are encouraged to organize their respective diaconate.
  • Members of the diaconate committee are compiled of representatives of each church in the diocese. The diaconate committee member/church representative holds the responsibility of informing his respective church of the decisions reached during the committee meetings.
  • The committee has 6 sub-committees: Hymns, Rites & Rituals, Organization and Coptic Language, Executive & Communications. Each diaconate member serves in one of the subcommittees.
  • Decisions made during the diaconate committee meetings will be posted to the diocese website.
